The origins of the firm date back to 1947, when Myer Julius Canter

brother Harry qualified as a Solicitor and joined the Practice as

in Liverpool, renowned for his work relating to dock accidents. In
1967, Alan Berg joined the Practice as a Partner and he became a successful

In 1978, Myer Canter retired and Alan became Senior Partner. The following
year Lee Heaven became a Partner and soon assumed the role of Managing
Partner of the Practice, working in tandem with Alan Berg in the management
and development of the Practice as a whole. Alan Berg maintained his
position of Senior Partner until 1994 when he was appointed Stipendiary
Magistrate at the Courts of Manchester and Salford. He has now become
a Senior District Judge at Manchester City Magistrates Court.
